Heatwave Breaks for More Mild Weather

Finally, a break from the heat.

Written by Adam Hochron.

The past few weeks have been marked by torrential rains and boiling heat. The National Weather Service is predicting a much more comfortable week in our area just in time for the Monmouth County Fair.

There is a chance of showers throughout the week, but it is not expected to be as severe as some of the rainstorms recently seen. The high temperature for today looks to be near 87 degrees, one of the coolest days of the week. The low for tonight is expected to be near 72.

On Tuesday the chance of a storm is likely to come after 10 a.m. with a similar forecast for today during the day and at night.

The latest forecast does not predict a break in the heat from the rain as the high for Wednesday will be around 91 on a mostly sunny day. There is once again a 50 percent chance of showers on Wednesday night with a low near 69.
