HYAA Presidential Award Awarded to Rick Mayell

At Holmdel Community Day and Baseball Bonanza Saturday, the Holmdel Youth Activities Association Executive Committee honored Rick Mayell, who was been involved in HYAA basketball for 15 years as a coach and commissioner.

During that time he was part of a group that founded a program known today as Mid-Monmouth Travel Basketball. Mayell served the last 10 years as travel coordinator and basketball trustee for Monmouth County.

He was lauded for being instrumental in transitioning the rec and travel roles to the existing commissioners.

"Over the last few years, we've come to appreciate the time, energy and effort these roles take and his dedication over those many years has made the town of Holmdel, HYAA and Travel Basketball a better place for our kids and families," said HYAA Basketball Commissioner and Executive Committee Member Brian Coffaro.
