HHS Varsity Soccer Team Wins Shore Conference Division Title
In a vigorous, bouncy match against Rumson-Fair Haven on the home field, Holmdel proves its skill.
Last night Holmdel Boys Soccer team avenged its only loss of the season by beating Rumson 1-0 in double overtime.
It was an exciting match filled with both teams having plenty of chances to win. Rumson played their physical style with their amazing throw in’s putting perpetual pressure on the Holmdel Defense.
However, in the end it was Junior sensation Zach Bond ending the match 1 minute into the 2nd overtime.

Nick King slid the ball across to Bond, the center forward, who finished the ball and helped Holmdel secure their second straight Class A central title.
The Hornets are now 11-1 with two regular season games remaining before the Shore and State titles.

Their defense continues to be sensational recording their 9th shut out of the season.
Led by senior sweeper Casey O’Gorman and the outstanding goal keeping of Mitchell Wallier the Hornets are hoping to gain momentum and make another State Title Run.
"It was a tough game. Very physical," said Bond. All he could say about scoring the goal that ended the match and secured the title was simply: "What a feeling!"
After the celebration on the turf, Coach John Nacarlo said he was proud of how the team came back in the second half. "Rumson is a great team, but we worked hard and pressured them."
