Final 'Long Run' at Holmdel Park for Cross Country Athletes

The Holmdel Sunday Long Runs are held on the Holmdel Park paths on six Sundays, beginning July 8. More than 100 cross-country athletes showed up for the first event. 

Runners groups meet at 8:00 a.m. with the first groups taking to the road by 8:15 to beat the heat. Groups are divided by distance and pace.

Music, watermelon, bagels, and socialization are part of the event. The event is sponsored by Bennett Running

Bennett Running is proud to host Summer Long Runs from Holmdel High School in Holmdel, NJ.

We invite all runners to join us.  This means high schoolers, collegiate runners, coaches, recreational runners, weekend warriors, elites, and everything in between.  Runners of middle school age and younger are welcome to come, but you will have to run with them and be responsible for them.

We meet on  Sunday mornings in the Holmdel High School Parking lot overlooking the track. We meet at 8am, ready to start the run at 8:15 sharp.  Holmdel High School is located at 36 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, NJ.

The runs are very informal.  Just a group of people who like getting in a long run with friends before the heat of the day becomes unbearable.  We have runners of various paces and distances, so you should be able to find someone to run with. We usually head into the legendary Holmdel Park.

Bennett Running supplies some water, gatorade and bagels. Coach McCafferty has been known to bring watermelon. Feel free to add to the supply.  Don’t forget to bring your own water and post-run snacks.

We will meet six times in 2012.  Our first run will be on Sunday, July 8.  Our last long run will be Sunday August 12.

Remember, by the time you are warming up for your first XC meet in September, 50% of the season is OVER! Get running! Get Rocking!
