The Fifth Annual Daniel R. Shalloo Sr. Picnic and Softball Tournament will be held on July 23 at Cross Farm Park in Holmdel. (Rain date is July 24.) The event is a fundraiser for the Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer.
The tournament will feature 12 teams looking to dethrone last year's champion, Team Mya. Each of the 12 teams will be named and play in honor of a young hero fighting cancer or in the memory of a special angel.
The day will feature barbecue, watermelon, ice pops, cake, desserts, drinks, music, games, face painting and more. Families, friends and fans associated with a team are covered by their team's entry fee. The cost is $25 per person not associated with a team. Kids are free.
