Campaign Season

The Kevin Lavan/Bill Shea for county freeholder campaign lists some things for voters to consider.

Every year during the months of September, October and November we go through same process, two political parties trying to gain your confidence to convince you to vote for their candidates.

We are not going to do that. We are just going to point out the facts.

Fact (1): We have a 5 Republican Party - 0 Democratic Party Board of Chosen Freeholders in Monmouth County.

This creates a single-minded situation. This creates a board that is complacent. This creates a board that has no balance. This creates a board with a sense of total control and the sense of unquestionable decision making. This defies the concept of a two party system. This is a board that operates without challenge.

Fact (2): Over the last year we have been hearing John Curley boasting about his role in exposing the Brookdale College situation.

The people involved were appointed by the board. The person arrested was appointed by the board. The board has had a Republican majority for the last several years. The board took years before exposing the corruption that cost the taxpayers and the students of Brookdale. John Curley will tell you that by him exposing the Brookdale problems it led to a reduction in tuition but fails to tell you how much it costs through the years of corruption.  (Too little too late Director Curley.)  Where is the oversight????

Fact (3): Last Year part of Lillian Burry’s campaign platform was that Monmouth County had the toughest Pay To Play laws and that they were authored by the Republicans of the Freeholder Board.

One of the first orders of business for Serena DiMaso was to make a motion and eliminate those same Pay To Play laws that were so important last year.   (I guess it was good for a sound bite last year).

Fact (4): Fort Monmouth was closed, losing jobs, devastating small business in the area and vendors throughout Monmouth County.

The Freeholder board is dropping the ball again, they have no plan however they will tell you they do and never elaborate on it.  (What Does That Tell You?)

Bill Shea & Kevin Lavan are running for Monmouth County Freeholder.  William “Bill” Shea and Kevin M. Lavan will reform county government, stand up for taxpayers, and serve as ambassadors for Monmouth County small business. They believe in public service, not politics, and will represent our communities with integrity.

When elected in November, both Bill and Kevin will not be taking a salary.

Shea and Lavan will be working hard as your Freeholders, standing up for seniors and working families at every turn and will be pushing for ethics and oversight in county government.

Without the oversight of an ethics board county government will continue to be a runaway train.

We need to put our money where our mouth is and put the pride back in Monmouth County.

Monmouth County needs people like Bill and Kevin that will do what they say not politicians that just say what they think you want to hear.
