Thursday: Tour Nine Rumson Kitchens

Nine of Rumson’s most beautiful kitchens will be on display Wednesday and Thursday, to raise money for the Rumson Education Foundation.

Check in at Salt Creek Grill and take a map with the nine house locations.  You can go in any order to visit the kitchens, which have been enhanced with food, tablescapes, and floral designs. Local chefs may be onsite preparing food.

“The homes this year are very different,” explained Rumson Education Foundation President Maura Abad Lowe. “We have some homes this year that are Indian/Asian inspired, some British cottage-y, a couple French designed kitchens and some transitional/modern homes too.”

A Vendor Showcase will be held Wednesday and Thursday at . Hours are Wednesday 4-8 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The showcase is limited to house ware items and will have products from tour sponsors and other one of-a-kind items.

In addition to the show case, Salt Creek Grille will also be open for lunch on Thursday, and will be donating a portion of their lunch proceeds back to the Education Foundation. Reservations are suggested.

“It takes a lot of work, but most people are ready and willing to help because they know the money is going back to the schools,” said Shanley.

Tickets for the Kitchen Tour are still available and can be purchased for $50 up until the day of the tour. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rumsonedfoundation.org. On Thursday, May 10, ticket prices will increase to $55, senior prices will stay at $50 even on the day of the tour.

Tickets can also be purchased on Wednesday, May 9 at the Salt Creek Grille Vendor Show. Children are not permitted on the Kitchen Tour.
