New Principal for Indian Hill School

Tali Axelrod will begin in July, 2011.

Tali Axelrod as appointed by the school board to be the principal of Indian Hill School, effective July 1, 2011. She will replace interim principal Susan McGinty. 

Axelrod was selected by a panel of teachers, parents, administrators and board members to lead the school for grades 4-6. She was the top pick out of 90 applicants, and sailed through three rigorous interviews. 

She is hired at at an annual salary of $118,000. Axelrod earned her Bachelor Degree at Brandeis University, a Master Degree in Instruction and Curriculum and her NJ elementary teachers’ certification at Kean University, according to the school district, which also said she  obtained her NJ Principal certificate along with a Masters in Educational Leadership at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Axelrod has plans to begin work towards a doctorate at Rutgers University.

Currently, she is the vice principal at Von E. Mauger Middle School in Middlesex Borough. She lives in Fanwood, and is the mother of two boys. 

At the April 29 Board of Education meeting held at the Satz School, she expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for her new position.

Superintendent Barbara Duncan complimented McGinty for her excellent work as interim principal.
