New Principal Approved at Hazlet Middle School

Christine McCoid hails from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains.

The Hazlet Board of Education has found Hazlet Middle School's newest principal, Christine McCoid.

McCoid was an Assistant Principal at Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains. The approval comes after former principal Colleen Rafter retired this year.

"As Principal of Hazlet Middle School, Mrs. McCoid looks forward to partnering with parents, students and staff to continue the tradition of academic excellence in a community that supports the growth and potential of every student," the release said.

McCoid has a degree in elementary and special needs education and psychology, and a masters in education administration according to a district news release. Prior to becoming an assistance principal, McCoid was a fourth grade teacher in Cranford and and Technology Implementation Specialist with EdGate.com.
