School Board Openings in Holmdel and Hazlet Districts

Candidates interested in trying for a seat on their local school board must file nominating petitions by Monday, July 28.


The Holmdel and Hazlet Boards of Education will have vacancies to fill in November. 

In Holmdel, the terms currently filled by members Barbara Garrity, Victor DeSario and Phyllis Pascucci will expire. 

In Hazlet, there will be four vacancies. The terms of William J. Kolibas, Jr., Joseph Lamb, Nelyda Perez and Tom Herman are expiring. 

Candidates must file a nominating petition with the County Clerk’s Election office at 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold, in order to get their name on the Nov. 4 ballot. 

The deadline to submit the nominating petition is Monday, July 28. 

Individuals elected to their school boards in November will begin service in January. More information about candidacy is posted on the New Jersey School Boards Association website.
