Holmdel Schools State Aid Remains Flat Looking Into 2014

The district received no increase in aid compared to last year's funding.

Holmdel schools are receiving $1.7 million for the 2013-14 school year, according to recent state aid numbers released from Trenton on March 1.

The district is receiving $275,873 in transportation aid and $1.36 million in special education aid.

The last large increase for Holmdel came in 2012 at an increased 96.4 percent, after several years of budget cuts to education from the state. The Holmdel school district budget that year came with a 1.25 percent tax levy increase.

In the 2012-13 school year, state aid accounted for 3.4% of the budget. Holmdel's district Business Administrator could not be reached for comment in time for publication about the 2013-14 budget.
