Hazlet Schools Update From Bianca Lucarini

The following was written by Bianca Lucarini, Student Board Member, and presented to the Hazlet Board of Education on Oct. 28. 

The Hazlet District schools have very exciting events planned ahead for students. Just a few reminders for all schools; schools will be closed from Monday, November 4th to Friday, November 8th, for fall break. Also, the end of the first marking period, will be on Friday, November 15th.

First, Raritan High School will host an open house for the Hazlet Middle School tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. There will be a Marching Band Parent meeting on November 13th at 7:30 pm. Senior portraits will be available for pick up on Thursday, November 14th.

Next, Hazlet Middle Schoolers this week are celebrating Red Ribbon Week! The organization RAINE will also be holding a Thanksgiving Food drive from October 27th ­ November 15th. Fall picture makeups will be held on Tuesday, November 12th. 

At Beers Street Elementary, students will be asked wear red, white, and blue for Veteran's Day onNovember 11th. Movie Day,will be on Friday November 15th at 3:00 pm. November 18th Beers Street Elementary staff and students, will celebrate American Education Week!

At Cove Road Elementary, Students had a fun night at the annual halloween dance on Friday October25th. The halloween costume celebration is on October 31st. Staff and students will celebrate AmericanEducation Week November 18th­ November 22nd. On Wednesday, November 20th, Cove Road will hostClassroom Visitation Day!

Lillian Drive Elementary students will get into the fall spirit at tomorrow’s PTO Pumpkin Patch, the Trick or Trunk event will also be tomorrow for grades one and two at 6:00 pm and grades three and four at 7:00pm. The Halloween Parade will be on Halloween Day, this Thursday, October 31st at 2:00 pm. Picturere takes will be on Friday, November 1st. There will be a PTO Meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at7:00 pm.

Middle Road Elementary will have their Trick or Treat event on Wednesday, October 30th, at 6:30 pm. The Halloween Parade will be this Thursday, October 31st, Halloween Day! On Friday, November 1st,the RAINE food drive begins ! The school store will be open on November 12th for all students. Tutoring will be available for students on November 11th and November 14th at 3:30 pm.

Raritan Valley Elementary will have Picture Day on Thursday, October 30th. The Halloween Parade will be this Thursday, October 31st, starting at 1:45 pm!

Finally, at Sycamore Drive Early Childhood Learning Center, students will participate in The HalloweenParade on Thursday, October 31st at 9:30! This Veteran's day students will remember those who served for our country, on Monday, November 11th. The Winter Fundraiser will also begin on Monday, November 11th. There will be a PTO Meeting on Wednesday, November 13th at 7:30 pm.
