Hazlet Schools Through February: Relay for Life Kick Off, Report Cards

Raritan High School senior Leann Coppola is a student representative to the Board of Education. She gave this schools roundup report at Lillian Drive School on Monday, Jan. 28. 

Good evening everyone! I hope you are all staying warm as winter's cold weather has truly come out this past week. Though the weather is extremely cold, our schools are keeping warm with the many activities they have planned.

Sycamore Drive Early Childhood Learning Center's Barnes and Noble Night was Jan. 29. Sycamore's Kindergarten Registration will be held on Feb. 11 through Feb. 15. On Feb. 14, Sycamore Drive would like all students and staff to wear Red for Valentine's Day. Also to celebrate Valentine's Day, Sycamore Drive will be holding their Someone Special Dance on Feb. 15. Lastly, Sycamore would like to remind everyone about the TGI Fridays Fundraiser on Feb. 19.

Raritan Valley invites everyone to their Barnes and Noble Book Fair on Feb. 28.

Middle Road would like to remind parents of the workshop by the CAP District held on Jan. 30. There will then be CAP Program on Feb. 1, for the 3rd Grade and New Students at Middle Road. Middle Road will be having a Fitness is Fun assembly on Feb. 7 for the entire school. Then on Feb. 8, Middle Road will be holding their fun filled Valentine's Day Family Dance. Lastly, Middle Road is look forward to hold Jump Rope for Heart on Feb. 21.

Lillian Drive would like to remind everyone of the PTO Movie Night this Friday, Feb. 1. Coffee with Lillian Drive's Principal will be held on Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by their PTO meeting. The Lillian Drive PTO will be holding a school dance on Feb. 7. All students will be turning in their monthly reading logs this week and will be receiving their Reading Awards later in the week! Lillian Drive is extremely excited for Family Fun Night on Feb. 21. The students at Lillian are eagerly preparing for their Second Grade Music Concert scheduled for February 27. Come out and join in the fun!

Cove Road Elementary School is holding their Valentine's Dance on Feb. 8 beginning at 6 p.m. Raritan's Hero's and Cool Kids are really excited to visit Cove Road on Feb. 13. Cove Road would like to remind everyone about their PTO Gift Auction on Feb. 22. 

Beers Street would like to announce that Movie Day which was supposed to be on Feb. 1, will be postponed until further notice. Beers Street Elementary School will be celebrating Digital Learning Day on Feb. 6. Beers Street will be wrapping up the month of February with Career Day on Feb. 22. 

The Hazlet Middle School's Gift Auction will be this Friday, Feb. 1 in the RHS Cafeteria. HMS is excited for the upcoming assembly on Internet Safety which will be held on Feb. 6 as a part of Digital Learning Day. The Hazlet Middle School's PTO Meeting will be held on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. 

The Relay for Life Kick Off Event will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Raritan High School is extremely excited for their annual Faculty Lip Sync on February 13th. On Feb. 21, everyone is welcome to the Zumbathon at Raritan High School. There will be a Winter Dance Fling held on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Lastly, best of luck to Raritan's Forensics Team as they compete in their state competition on Feb. 23. 

In conclusion, report cards for the second marking period will be posted on Feb. 11. Our entire district will have early dismissal on Feb. 15. Finally, I would like to remind everyone that all schools will be open on Feb. 18though it will be Presidents Day. I hope everyone bundles up for the rest of winter and I look forward to speaking at the next meeting.
