Board of Education Votes on $52M Budget Tonight

Taxes for the average homeowner will rise by $92 under this spending plan.

The Holmdel Board of Education will take a vote on whether to adopt a $51,926,347 million spending plan at its meeting Wednesday night.

The nine elected board members will hear public comment before voting. The meeting will be held at the William R. Satz school library at 8 p.m.

If adopted by board vote on March 28, the owner of a home assessed at the township's average rate of $617,061 would pay $8,175.44 in school taxes, up $91.94 from 2012.

The increase in the tax levy is 1.25%, below the 2% cap mandated by the Gov. Chris Christie.
