Monmouth Freeholders Introduce $480.9M Budget

The amount to be raised by taxation remains flat at $302.5 million.

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders introduced a $480.9 million dollar budget on Thursday. The amount to be raised by taxation remains flat for the fourth year  at $302,475,000.

As introduced, the budget is down by $100,000 from the last year, bringing county spending down to 2008 levels.

The county budget is tentatively scheduled for adoption at 7 p.m. on April 10, following the official public hearing.

The freeholders will have a PowerPoint presentation at their regular public meeting at 7 p.m. on March 27 at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters on Symmes Drive, Manalapan. The public is invited to attend and comment.
