Holmdel Puts a Liquor License Out To Bid

Part of the township's effort to raise revenue. Bidding starts at $300,000.

Holmdel Township is putting one of its two available liquor licenses out to bid. Bidding starts at $300,000.

To prequalify, eligible bidders must submit a complete Alcohol Beverage Control License application form, show compliance with the resolution requirements, and present a bank-certified check for $300,000, according to a public notice by the township. 

Prequalification will be publicly announced on Wednesday, May 2 at 10 a.m. Sealed bids must received by the Holmdel Clerk's Office by Monday, May 7 at 10 a.m.

If the award is made, the winning bidder must pay 50% of the balance of the bid by certified check made payable to “Township of Holmdel” within five days of the adopted resolution. The remaining 50% must be paid by the end of 2012.

The new distribution license will be issued by November 7, 2012.
