Holmdel and Birdsall Part Ways After Company Officials Indicted

Holmdel will switch to Stantec consulting services.

Holmdel Township will look past Birdsall for its sewer management services, after top officials in the company were recently indicted in a pay-to-play scandal.

Birdsall has been under investigation for skirting the state's pay-to-play laws by allegedly reimbursing its employees for their personal, unreportable political contributions.

Holmdel will switch contracts to Scantec, a "consulting service in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management, and project economics for infrastructure and facilities projects," according to its website.

Mayor Patrick Impreveduto said Stantec has agreed to match Birdsall prices, and the township will not be spending any more money than it already is for the services.
