Hazlet Township Committee Swears In New Members

DiNardo and Ronchetti took the oath of office with their families by their sides.

Two new members were sworn in to the Hazlet Township Committee during the township's reorganization meeting Saturday.

Democrats James DiNardo and Barbara Ronchetti took the oath of office with their families by their side, officially beginning their three-year terms on the committee.

DiNardo noted after the meeting that he is looking forward to working on quality of life issues as well as growing the local business community.

"We're looking to improve Route 36, revitalize it. Taxes are a main issue in this town, and there are quality of life issues, like the roads," he said.

On election night, Ronchetti shared plans to cut costs and repair infrastructure.

Ronchetti was happy to announce the Democrat's new plans. "We are looking to put solar panels at the swim club to save electricity, and we're going to get grants for more road improvement projects," she said.

DiNardo and Ronchetti joined fellow Democrat Joseph Belasco on the committee, along with Republicans Michael Sachs and Scott Aagre.
