Hazlet Establishes a "Green Team"

A new 7-member "Green Team" has been formed to advise Hazlet's governing body on sustainability issues in the township. 

The group's purpose will be to weigh in on, and recommend, sustainable practices when possible, provide advice and suggestions to the Township Land Use Board to assure environmental issues are considered, to gather community ideas and promote causes of sustainability within the town. 
The Green Team is separate from the Environmental Commission and the Open Space Advisory Council.


The Hazlet Township Committee has appointed seven members to the Green Team advisory committee. They will meet monthly. 

Green Team members will select township volunteers to work on Green Team projects. Its work will be periodically submitted to the Township Committee. 

Members appointed to serve a three-year term, ending on Dec. 31, 2016 are: Sharon Keegan, Ron Dente and Steve Grossman. 

Members appointed to a two year term, ending Dec. 31, 2015 are: Barbara Lejda, and Audrey Taylor.

Members appointed to a one-year term ending Dec. 31, 2014 are Kevin Lavan, Mary Paraskevas. 

Eventually all terms will be three-year terms. 


The Township Committee Representative is Barbara Ronchetti; the Alternate Township Committee Representative is Jim DiNardo, and the Municipal Administrator/Agent for Grants is Dennis Pino.
