The Hazlet Sewerage Authority building is set to be knocked down and the township is currently bidding out the demolition job.

Last year, Hazlet Township had plans to market the Sewerage Authority building near Cove Road School by rezoning the parcel to commercial use and attempting to sell the building and parking lot. However, concerns from residents stopped the plans.

At a Sept. 3 meeting this year the Hazlet Township Committee authorized the demolition of the building, but minutes from the meeting don't detail future plans.

Business Administrator Dennis Pino said the only plan for the property right now is to restore the grounds to a natural state.

The demolition plans were not listed on the original Sept. 3 agenda. Sealed bids for demolition will be opened on Oct. 8.
