Alcatel-Lucent Application Moves A Step Closer to Public Hearing

The Planning Board authorized completeness waivers for the application, in order to efficiently move the application through.

The Holmdel Planning Board approved application completeness waivers for Somerset Developers regarding the Alacatel-Lucent project, bringing it one step closer to an official public hearing.

A completeness waiver, granted at the May 14 meeting, does not absolve the developer of providing the necessary information, it just allowed the Planning Board to schedule a hearing regarding the application in temporary absence of the materials.

Some information will be mandatory as a condition of approval, such as environmental constraint maps, sewer capacity and traffic information.

The waiver still allowed the Planning Board at a later date to ask for any information it feels is pertinent to the application.

Somerset Developers said it will comply with any requests from the board.

The township is still working with the developers on the plan and map. All up-to-date planning materials are available for the public in the Planning Office in Town Hall.

In January, the township sent plans back to the developer and according to Mayor Patrick Impreveduto, "went back to the drawing board."
