West Keansburg Man Indicted on Possession & Distribution Charges

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a West Keansburg man on a total of fourteen drug-related charges.

A West Keansburg man was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury on charges he allegedly sold drugs to an undercover detective in Highlands during July 2012.

According to investigators, Vincent Meade, 26, sold both cocaine and marijuana to an undercover detective with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office on July 12 and July 18. He allegedly did so within 500 feet of Ptak Towers.

Ptak Towers is a 95-unit public housing facility 95 units located at 215 Shore Drive in Highlands and is designated specifically to provide affordable housing seniors.

Meade will stand trial for a total of fourteen charges, including two counts of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of third and one count of fourth degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, two counts of third and one count of fourth degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of second and one count of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing facility, and two counts of second and one count of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public housing facility. 

An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a jury has voted that there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
