Man Taken by Helicopter After Fall at Blue Wave Auto Spa in Hazlet

A state police medevac unit landed between the Hazlet firehouse and the Goddard School to pick up a trauma victim. The road was temporarily closed.

Hazlet Police, First Aid and Fire responded to a report of a fall victim at the Blue Wave Auto Spa on Route 34 North at about 1:30 Thursday afternoon.

The adult male victim was transported by NJ State Police helicopter to a trauma center. The helicopter landing zone was between The Goddard School and the Hazlet Fire Company No. 1 on Holmdel Road, because road paving near the nearby HYAL football fields made that area too difficult to access.

Holmdel Road was closed to traffic traveling in both directions during the landing and takeoff. The road is now re-opened.

The identity of the victim and the victim's condition has not yet been released by police.

Patch will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
