Vehicles Burn in Fire at Rear of Casola Farms Thursday

No injuries reported.

A fire 12:45 a.m. Thursday at Casola Farms on Route 34 damaged several vehicles parked behind the main building on the property, police said. 

The Holmdel First Aid and Fire Department were called to the scene. No injuries were reported. The firefighters extinguished the fire. 

Fire Marshall Richard Hogan inspected the scene and determined the cause to be accidental and/or electrical. It began in the engine block of the Ford utility truck.

Two vehicles were destroyed in the fire:  a 2000 Ford Utility Truck and 2000 Ford Expedition. Damaged in the fire were a 2004 Ford F350 Pickup and a  New Holland Tractor. 

According to police, Holmdel Police Officers Ptl. Michael Hughes and Sgt. Vincent Imperato responded first to the call for a possible fire. They were checking the area of Sweet Briar Lane for on a suspicious noise call when Imperato observed what appeared to be a fire at the rear of the Casola property. Sweet Briar Lane runs directly behind the A. Casola Farms Property.

Upon their arrival the officers observed several vehicles on fire that were parked behind the main building on the property.

Also responding to the scene were, Holmdel Detective Thomas Foley, Holmdel Fire Inspector Dave Olsen, and business owners Antonio and Kim Casola.
