Union Beach Man Used Hypodermic Needle as Weapon During Robbery, Police Say

A Union Beach man accused of trying to stab an unnamed person with a hypodermic needle in July was taken into custody Friday, according to court records.

Jack allegedly threatened to stab an individual with the needle during the commission of a robbery in Hazlet on July 16. Police say he then fled from Keyport Patrolman Michael Tristao when the officer tried to arrest him.

Bail was set at $10,000. He remains in custody at Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township, according to the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office
