School Bus Accident on Main Street in Holmdel

The bus was transporting students from Rumson-Fair Haven to Marlboro High School for a math competition. None were hurt.

A school bus carrying about a dozen Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School students was involved in an accident with two other vehicles on Main Street in Holmdel Monday afternoon. 

The students were not hurt in the crash, but the female driver of a blue Toyota Corolla was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, said Holmdel Patrolman James Archinaco The driver of the red pick-up truck was not hurt. 

The students were being transported to a math competition in Marlboro on a Helfrich & Son school bus when the accident occurred at 3:17 p.m. The accident took place in front of the Weichert Realtors office housed in the historic Dutch Reformed Church.

Police rerouted Main Street traffic to Spring Valley Road following the accident. Tow trucks removed the school bus and the Corolla from the scene at 4:15 p.m.
