Police: Trio Arrested After Allegedly Stealing 129 Cans of Spray Paint from K-Mart

Two men and a woman were arrested Feb. 25 after they allegedly threatened a K-Mart security guard when he attempted to thwart their theft of 129 cans of spray paint, according to Hazlet Police Chief James Broderick. 

The security guard allegedly observed them leaving the store with the merchandise, which is valued in excess of $500, Broderick explained. When the guard approached them, the two men allegedly threatened him by saying they were armed with a handgun and that he, "Better watch out," according to Broderick.

Then the men, identified as 24-year-old Staten Island residents Michael Napolitano and Corey Rosali, and the unidentified woman left in a car, he said.

A description of the vehicle was put out to surrounding police departments and Holmdel Sgt. Michael Hughes spotted it driving on Bethany Road. He notified the Hazlet Police Department and officers arrested the trio on Craig Street in Hazlet.

Napolitano and Rosali are each facing a total of three charges, including first degree robbery, second degree conspiracy to commit shoplifting and robbery and third degree shoplifting.

Bail was set at $40,000 each with no 10% cash option.
