The classic "switcharoo" technique apparently doesn't work on Kohl's loss prevention officers.
James Granberg, 36 of Hazlet allegedly switched his old shoes for new ones in a Kohl's and tried to walk out, before being stopped at the front door.
Loss prevention officers at Kohl's also reported Granberg had allegedly taken the tags off of a pair of sunglasses in the store as well.
Granberg was arrested on March 19 by Holmdel Police with $118.99 worth of merchandise allegedly on his person. He was processed and released, pending a court date.
