Police: Sheepshead Baygel Thief Caught
Marc Cavanagh, 51, allegedly broke the bagel store's two front windows and made off with $200 worth of cash.
A Keansburg man is allegedly responsible for the first of two thefts at Sheepshead Baygel, according to Holmdel Police.
Marc Cavanagh, 51, whose last known address is in Keansburg, allegedly broke the bagel store's two front windows and made off with $200 worth of cash in May.
Sheepshead Baygel was robbed again in July, Cavanagh is not charged with that burglary.
According to police, Cavanagh is also responsible for another May theft at the American Puppy Club in Middletown. He faces burglary and criminal mischief charges related to the incident.
Cavanagh was processed and remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $5,000 bail, with no ten percent, pending a court appearance.
Investigating officers were Holmdel Patrolman Andrew Kret, Detective Sgt. Louis A. Torres, and Detective John Allen.
