Police Blotter: More Thefts from Cars; Traffic Stops Yield Drug Arrests

Holmdel police report released May 13.

  • May 13: Officers responded to four reported car burglaries in the Takolusa Drive area of the Township in the early hours of the morning. Preliminary reports reveal that the someone entered unlocked vehicles overnight and removed cash and other items. Similar incidents have occurred on April 4th and 14th, and May 7th and 10th. Police urge residents to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables from them as well. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the Holmdel Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-946-4400.
  • May 5: Kimberly Hulej, 44, Keansburg NJ and Jessica Brown, 34, Keansburg NJ were arrested as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Palmer Avenue. Hulej was charged with possession of CDS (suspected marijuana) and driving while suspended. Brown was charged with possession of prescription drugs not in the original container. Both subjects were transported to HQ for processing and released pending court.
  • May 5: Laurence Smith, 37, North Middletown NJ was arrested and charged for possession of CDS (suspected marijuana) and Possession of CDS paraphernalia as a result of a suspicious person call on Holmdel Road. Smith was transported to HQ for processing and released pending court.
  • May 7: Bryan Hammerschmidt, 21, Aberdeen NJ was arrested and charged for DWI as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Crawfords Corner Road. Hammerschmidt was transported to HQ for processing and released pending court
  • May 7:  Ptl. Michael Hughes arrested Gilberto Alfaro, 30, Woodbridge NJ and charged him for DWI as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 35. Alfaro was transported to HQ for processing and released pending court.
  • May 10:  Jordan Almazan, 24, Ocean NJ was arrested  and charged for DWI as a result of a motor vehicle stop on the Garden State parkway ramp off Red Hill Road. Almazan was transported to HQ for processing and released pending court.
