Number of Freehold Outages Decreasing

JCP&L outage map has shown lower outage numbers throughout Friday.

While the majority of Freehold is still without power, progress has been made and can be seen on the JCP&L outage map.

The overall number of outages varied throughout Friday, but as of 4 p.m. 1,000 more people in Freehold had power on Friday than they did on Thursday. At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Freehold Township had 10,993 outages, at 4 p.m. on Friday outage numbers dropped to 9,900. Areas of Freehold Borough also saw power on Friday as numbers went from 3,935 on Thursday to 3,638 on Friday.

The JCP&L outage map did not specify which areas regained power, however areas of Rt. 9 and Jackson Mills Road were identified by Freehold Township Police as areas where power was being restored.

In an update from the Freehold Township Committee, JCP&L is currently working on two electrical substations; the Freehold and Jerseyville substations. According to the update, these two stations will have a major impact on turning a number of customers back on-line. Freehold customers on the Colts Neck substation, in the north east part of the Township may not have service until Sunday or later.

ED, I hope you find somewhere to go soon. Check with co-workers or neighbors. There must be someone you know who can take you in for the nights. You and your baby should not be suffering this way. Being in the cold takes a lot of your strength.

PR nightmare for JCP&L. Shouldn't their disaster recovery plan have included a public explanation of how power gets restored? The lights and businesses along Rt.9 have been out as long as five plus days already. Looking around the inland areas and not seeing much utility damage we ask why. Same for many of our inland towns. We needed more and better updates as to what was broken and what was needed to fix it. We got not a word.

ED, you are welcome to come to our house for some heat and a nice hot lunch. We're just down th road from you. I think the mall is open, too, if you need to warm up.

Elton Manor Estates in Freehold Township has been in the dark 7 days now and counting! We here maybe Wednesday, Thursday or Friday now! Now directly across the street on the same block the power went out on 10/29 hours after mine went out and came back on 11/4 @ 6am. What's wrong with this picture? For 20 years now Freehold Township has had power outages which continues to get worse. JCP&L needs to start looking at their infrastructure in Freehold Township or changing grids ASAP. My heart goes out to the folks that lost everything! That said there is NO reason why on the same block that some have and some do not! I encourage the Governor to question JCP&L and come up with a plan!
