No Injuries at P&P Sweet Shop Memorial Day Fire

Fire and first aid left the Holmdel Memorial Day Ceremony to put out a grease fire.

The Holmdel Memorial Day Parade was cut just a little short for some volunteer emergency workers, after a kitchen fire called units out.

A late morning fire behind the P&P Sweet Shop grill was quickly extinguished by firefighters, and the open shop was successfully cleared.

Holmdel Police Detective Louis Torres said the shop remained closed until a health inspection, a common practice in any commercial kitchen fire. Gas lines were also temporarily shut down.
