Michael Karwan Could Have a Beard By Now, Father Says

ABC News reported on Thursday that it's possible Karwan hopped a bus into New York City, where he has visited Times Square with his family before.

Michael Karwan's father said his son is the type of guy that sometimes has to shave twice a day, according to the Asbury Park Press. So by now, Walter Karwan said, his son could be sporting a beard.

Karwan has been missing since Tuesday night, when he left his parent's Marlboro Township home following an argument. Police said it isn't uncommon for Karwan to take a walk to cool off, but this time he didn't come back.

Karwan, 19, is a high-functioning autistic teen and a student at Brookdale Community College. He was reportedly last seen in Freehold trying to check into a hotel, when he was turned away because Karwan wasn't carrying identification.

ABC News reported on Thursday that it's possible Karwan hopped a bus into New York City, where he has visited Times Square with his family before.

"I don't think he's able to process that this is not a big deal we just want him home. I'll sell the world to have him home," Walter Karwan told ABC.

You can find a missing person flier in conveniences stores around the county, the Asbury Park Press reported a $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Karwan's safe return.

On Thursday, police ended the active search but that would change if new information is received. Police believe Karwan is now outside the jurisdiction.

Karwan is described with light skin, brown eyes and black hair. He is a student at Brookdale Community College, last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and green sneakers. He is around 6 ft. tall and weighs around 220 lbs.

A family friend said the teen likes comic books and movies, and may be drawn to those locations. Karwan is not believed to have a car or his cell phone.

With rain expected on Friday, the National Weather Service is predicting lows tonight in the 40's but temperatures are expected to drop significantly on Saturday night.

Any person coming in contact with Michael is asked to contact the Marlboro Township Police Department at (732) 536-0100 attention Det. John Bise.
