Man Charged With Allegedly Forging $2K Check in Hazlet

He faces three third degree charges.

A Keansburg man was charged with allegedly forging a check in Hazlet, according to court documents. 

Police say Wayne Carhart, Jr., 33, forged a $2,000 check and presented it to a person in Hazlet on Jan. 14, 2013 knowing that it would not be honored. 

Carhart, Jr. is charged with forgery, presenting a bad check and theft by deception. All are third degree crimes.

Bail was set at $2,500. 

A charge does not indicate a conviction and all those charged are innocent until proven guilty.
