Florida Couple Charged with DWI, Child Endangerment by Hazlet Police

Police say the driver was drunk. The couple was taken to county jail, and their 6-year old taken in by DYFS.

Hazlet Police arrested a Florida couple at Route 35 and Hazlet Avenue around 12:10 a.m. on June 20, and charged the driver with driving drunk with a child in the car.

Jacob Adonizio, 34, and Amanda Adonizio, 32, husband and wife of Hudson, Fl, were arrested by Hazlet Police following a traffic stop.

Jacob Adonizio was charged with drunk driving and reckless driving. Amanda Adonizio was charged with possession of prescription painkillers. Both were charged with child endangerment, failure to wear seatbelts or use a secure child restraint system.

They were taken to county jail on $25,000 bail. Because there were no family members in the area, the child was placed with caretakers through the state Division of Youth and Family Services.

The officers on the scene were Ptl. William Agar and Sgt. Ted Wittke.
