UDPATE: Large Police Response on Telegraph Hill Road in Holmdel

Police were told there was furniture barricading the door and people inside.

Update 7:20 p.m

Holmdel resident Ernest Parodi Jr., 69, was taken into custody by police and transported to Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel for a crisis evaluation Tuesday afternoon, after police said a relative reported that he had barricaded himself in his home and had furniture up against the door.

Another person in the house, a 67-year old male, was also taken to the hospital "to be checked out," said Lt. Michael Smith. Police did not have information about him because their investigation is still ongoing, said Smith Tuesday evening.

Around 2:30 p.m. Holmdel Police, Holmdel First Aid and Holmdel Fire Company vehicles converged at the house on Telegraph Hill Road, near the intersection with Cherry Hill Road to respond to the situation and divert traffic. There was also a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Homeland Security mobile command truck and vehicles from the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team (MOCERT).

"That response is typical when you have a barricaded subject in a house," said Lt. Smith.
