Holmdel Police Report: Overturned Truck on Van Brackle Road

Report of a single motor vehicle accident released on August 18, 2011.

A large dump truck overturned on Van Brackle Road in Holmdel Wednesday morning.

According to information released by the Holmdel Police Department, the incident occurred on Aug. 17 at approximately 10:05 a.m.

Ptl. Michael Moore, Ptl. Andrew Kret, Sgt. Michael Pigott, Sgt. Eric Hoffman responded to the scene of the single vehicle accident. Upon their arrival officers discovered that a 1988 Freightliner dual axle dump truck had overturned on Van Brackle Road.

According to police, the truck, operated by Antonio Meneses, 50, of Long Branch, was west bound on Van Brackle Road when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of Van Brackle Road and South Beers Street, subsequently striking a curb, overturning and coming to rest in the roadway in front of 36 Van Brackle Road.

Responding to the scene were Holmdel First Aid Squad, Holmdel Fire Company Number Two, Holmdel Office of Emergency Management, Holmdel Police Traffic Safety Unit, and the Monmouth County Hazmat team. The driver was transported to Bayshore Community Hospital by Holmdel First Aid Squad for back, neck, and leg pain.

Van Brackle Road between South Beers Street and Line Road was closed for approximately three and a half hours for debris and vehicle removal.

The incident is still under investigation by Ptl. Michael Moore and Sgt. Michael Pigott.
