Holmdel Police Blotter: April 28-29

The following arrest information was supplied by the Holmdel Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 27: Damage to an electrical panel used to control lights at the basketball and baseball fields at was reported to Holmdel Police on Friday by the township Parks and Recreation Dept. The cost for an electrician to repair the unit was $2,000.  Patrolman John Maguire noted that the hinges were broken and there were pry marks on the inside of the panel door. The plastic lock for the electrical meter was also missing, and a hook used to secure it was bent. Police are continuing their investigation into the case of criminal mischief.

April 28: A traffic stop for alleged speeding on Route 34 lead to the arrest of a Matawan man who police said was under the influence and possessed five wax folds stamped “Beauty and The Beast” a brand of heroin, according to police. Ptl. Christopher Cherney arrested Michael C. Byrne, 37, of 400 Cross Road around 5 p.m. and charged him with operating under the influence, possession of controlled dangerous substance, and several motor vehicle violations.  

April 29: Holmdel Police were called to the Emergency Room at Bayshore Community Hospital around midnight Sunday after an inebriated Hazlet woman with a wrist injury refused to quiet down and stay put until she sobered up. Ptl. Jake Savage arrested Pamela R. Reed, 57, of 33 Croman Ct. and charged her with disorderly conduct.
