Holmdel Officers Arrest Two On Heroin, Cocaine Charges

A Middletown and Matawan resident are facing charges.


Two people were arrested by Holmdel Police on heroin and cocaine charges Saturday, at 12 a.m. The arrests were made in the vicinity of the Holmdel Motor Inn on Route 35. 

Shana A. Rongo, 23, of Hopping Road in Middletown was charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension. 

Trevon J. Vaccaro, 19 of Main Street in Matawan was charged with heroin and cocaine possession. 

According to police, the pair were in a dark alley behind a closed business near the Holmdel Motor Inn when Ptl. Jon Martin and Ptl. Michael Moore stopped on patrol to to question them.

Police say they gave false names, allegedly to prevent Rongo from being arrested on an active warrant out of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. 

Further investigation by police led to the charges. 

Shana Rongo is currently lodged at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $25,000 bail on the drug possession charges, and $10,000 on the contempt charge.

Trevon Vaccaro is being held at the county jail on $10,000 bail.
