Holmdel Fire & Rescue Company #2 Thanks Donors

Chief John Boyle Sr. explains how the donations are spent. The squad, one of two in Holmdel, is located on Centerville Road, off Route 35.

The Holmdel Fire and Rescue Company #2 would like to thank the residents and businesses of Holmdel for their support in our spring fund drive.

This year 48% of residents of the north side of town donated to the fire company.

The largest donation of $2,900 came from Karl and Barbara Lee Brand of Holmdel. This generous donation will fund one entire new set of turn out gear.

We also had one other donation of $2,000, and four families that donated $1,000.

Fifteen families donated over $500.

The following businesses also donated funds to the company: Amanda's Hallmark, Dearborn Market, Cosmetic Essence, Inc., Suburban Services, Inc., Atlantic Tree Services, Vonage, and Bayshore Hospital.

Currently, this is less than 3% of the business of Holmdel and hopefully in the future more business will be able to contribute to the fire protection of the town.

So far this fund drive has funded the balance of our grant to purchase new breathing equipment and has funded the first payment of our 20 new sets of turn out gear.

These 20 sets of new gear have been used on six calls over the past week, including a major car accident and fire.

Additionally, two thermal imaging cameras, miscellaneous hand tools, a personnel tracker, and new radios were purchased.

There is another $20,000 of funds that will be used towards equipment purchases this year.

This year $91,000 of equipment purchases were made, some of which needed to be financed and will be paid off over the coming years.

All of this was made possible by the generous contributions of the residents and business of Holmdel.

The Holmdel Fire and Rescue Company #2 relies on their support for capital purchases and operational expenses.

This year the fire company has responded to 250 calls and is the first responder for the entire township.

Thank you,

Chief John Boyle, Sr.
