Hazlet Police Blotter: Drunk Driving, Marijuana, Car Burglary

Police continue to investigate spate of residential burglaries, and have not yet made an arrest. Also, no trouble was reported in the township at the fireworks event on July 3.

The following information was released by the Hazlet Police Dept. on July 10. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Police continue to investigate a spate of residential burglaries, and while they have identified a person of interest, they have not yet arrested anyone for the break-ins. 

No trouble was reported during the July 3 fireworks festivities in the township, attended by thousands.

No arrest has been made in the case of the attempted burglary of Racestar on July 4, despite distribution of a surveillance video to area police departments.

July 4: Hazlet Police arrested Kevin Pridemore, 34, of 37B Maple Drive and charged him with drunk driving, resisting arrest, reckless driving and other offenses. Police said his blood alcohol content was measured at .20. According to a witness who called police at 8:39 p.m., Pridemore's vehicle was repeatedly hitting the highway barrier near Hazlet Avenue.

July 5: Jessica Bimonte, 19, of West Keansburg was arrested and charged on Central Avenue for possession of marijuana around 2 a.m.

July 5: Buhler Car Dealership reported at 4 p.m. that somebody had smashed a window on a Jeep Liberty parked at the lot at 3290 Route 35. 

July 8: An unlocked car parked on Willow Street was reportedly burglarized. Discovered missing was a bag of quarters, two gift cards and a personal check made out to another party (and not cashed.)
