Hazlet Police Blotter: License Plates Stolen Off Car at Train Station

The following information was released by the Hazlet Police on July 17.

July 15: A summons was issued to Ashok M. Kumar of Morganville for careless driving after he drove his 2007 BMW into the side of the Hazlet Professional Court on Sunday, located at 80 Hazlet Ave. Police said Kumar had been helping his wife, a doctor, paint the office on Sunday in preparation for a grand opening. His wife was a passenger in the car when he hit the gas instead of the brake, police said, causing damage to her office. 

July 15: Police received a report around 4 p.m. Sunday that an electric Terminator Scooter, valued at $200, was stolen off a front yard on Beers Street between Rosemary and Rutgers streets. A child had left it on the front yard of a friend's house there, but when he returned 30 minutes later it was gone.

July 16: A commuter returned to her vehicle parked at the Hazlet Train Station around 7:30 p.m. Monday to discover that someone had removed the license plates from her 1996 Honda Civic. The car was parked on the northbound side of the station. The criminal mischief could have occurred at any time after 7:30 a.m. that day, say police.
