Holmdel police charged a Hazlet man with heroin possession and possession with intent to distribute on Thursday.
Wayne C. Carhart, 33, of Fieldcrest Way was allegedly found with 76 individual wax paper bags containing a substance believed to be heroin, according to court documents. The amount of suspected heroin was less than a 1/2 ounce, according to the arrest warrant.
Patrolman Robert Philhower was the arresting officer. Carhart was remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $20,000 bond.
