Garbage Truck Unloads on Union Avenue in Hazlet

The road was closed for cleanup Friday morning but has since reopened.

A garbage truck emptied its contents onto Union Avenue near Hazlet Middle School Friday morning.

Hazlet Township police said detours were set up to allow for cleaning of the roadway, but teachers and students were able to get to school.

The roadway reopened around 8:30 a.m.

Nice Reporting. Get all that info from the police scanner? As a former journalist I'm embarrassed. Why did the truck dump it load? How did it happen? Sheeesh!

Agreed. There was a detailed account in 1936 of what happened when a 300 pound boar got loose in Holmdel. This is pathetic. What has happened to investigative journalism?
