Five Morganville Homes Burglarized Friday

Marlboro Police are seeking suspects Aug. 24 spree on Texas Road.

Police released information today they they are searching for suspects in five burglaries, which occurred last Friday, Aug. 24 on Texas Road in Morganville.

Three burglaries were reported by homeowners and neighbors in the area on Friday night, and the other two were reported over the weekend by owners returning home to find jewelry missing, according to Marlboro Police Lt. Fred Reck.

According to a department news release, "All entries were made through the rear of the residence either through prying open windows or doors or in one case entering through an unlocked rear door. Jewelry and cash were the main targets of the burglars."

Also on Aug. 24, three vehicles were burglarized in Marlboro off of Gordons Corner Road. Reck said those burglaries are also under investigation, but police see no connection between those incidents and the burglaries on Texas Road.

Marlboro is working with surrounding municipalities that also experienced a spike in burglaries over the same weekend, according to the news release.

Marlboro Police advise residents to look out for each other, and report any suspicious activity immediately. Residents are asked to leave lights on at night, and possibly a television or radio when the home is empty.
