Car Lands on Route 36 Guardrail After Accident at Palmer Ave. Intersection

The car came to a stop near the following intersection at Euclid Avenue.

A car came to rest on the Route 36 guardrail near the border of Hazlet, Keansburg and Middletown after an accident at about 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to Bob Pfleger, the public information officer for the Middletown EMS.

The car was traveling eastbound on the highway through the intersection of Palmer Avenue when it struck another vehicle, Pfleger explained. The car continued forward after the accident and came to rest on the guardrail near the next intersection at Euclid Avenue.

One lane traveling in each direction on Route 36 was closed immediately following the accident, and Route 36 east was closed entirely while a tow truck removed the car from the guardrail.
