Man Injured When Pick-up Overturns in Holmdel Trailer Park

The victim was taken by medevac helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

First responders rushed to help a man who was injured in his Chevy pick-up after it overturned in a cul-de-sac in the Holmdel section of the Garden Trailer Park around 12:42 p.m. on Monday.

Holmdel Police say it is unclear what caused the accident on Garden Trailer Park Drive.

Hazlet Township Police and First Aid took the man to Bayshore Community Hospital, where he was transported by a New Jersey State Police medevac helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Hazlet Fire Company #1 was on the scene to back up the First Aid and to remain on standby for danger while the vehicle was righted and towed away.

Anthony Leone, who lives nearby, said he was sitting outside with a neighbor when he heard a loud crashing sound of broken glass.

"It sounded like a bunch of bottles being broken," he said at the scene.

Leone said the owner of the pickup had recently moved into the trailer park, which is located near the NJ Transit railroad tracks. Half of the Garden Trailer Park is in Hazlet, the other half is in Holmdel.

Leone did not know his new neighbor's name. Holmdel Police have not released it pending notification of family.

Holmdel Ptl. Matthew Menosky is the investigating officer. Witnesses to the accident are asked to call Holmdel PD at 732-946-4400.
