On September 5, two cars were stolen from the same driveway on Winchester Lane: a 2011 Black Audi A8 Quattro, and a 2009 Black Mercedes GL550. On that same night, and not too far away, a 2011 Black Mercedes 550 sedan was stolen from a driveway on Country View Road. The latter was later found in Newark, NJ.

According to Det. Louis Torres, police are aware of a spate of luxury car thefts in Marlboro, Manalapan, Fair Haven and Rumson. The thieves use special scanners to detect a key fob from within the parked vehicle. The fob enables the ignition. They can easily enter the vehicle, press "start" and drive away.
