Sam Joynson, son of Monmouth County employee George Joynson (Elections) and Dr. Joan Joynson, won first prize in the Scholarship Achievement Award from the Constitutional Officers Organization of NJ (COANJ). The award is granted annually based on scholarly record, community involvement and financial need. COANJ awarded Joynson $2500 towards his college tuition.

A senior at Holmdel High School, Joynson is a member of the National Honor Society, captain of Boys Tennis Team and certified Emergency Medical Technician volunteer with Holmdel EMS. In September he will begin his college career at Lehigh University pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
