Obituary: War Veteran Leo D. Redmond, Jr., 86, of Hazlet

Leo D. Redmond, Jr., 86, of Hazlet, NJ, died on May 28, 2014 at his home. He was born in Elizabeth and lived in Hazlet since 1959. Leo worked as a regional salesperson for Sandoz Nutritional Supplements until his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and Korea. He was a member of the VFW at Large.

Surviving are his son, Leo Redmond, III and his wife Marian; three daughters, Eileen and her husband Jack Tirch, Judy Wilson, and Joan and her husband Patrick Gerien; his 3 grandchildren, Liz Tague and her husband Brian, Leo Redmond IV, and Edward Redmond and his wife Dr. Victoria Welsh; as well as his faithful dog Holly.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Doris I. Redmond in 2012; his son-in-law, Ted Wilson in 2013; and a sister, Jean Redmond.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services will be conducted during the afternoon hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Leo's name to the VFW of your choice.
